My quest
As a child, art found me as I found it. Art became a refuge, a motivator, a force that kept me curious and therefore a purpose to stay alive. Inside of it, there was struggle but no rejection. There was pain but a will for life and connection. Art had a place for me even though the outside felt unapproachable and closed off. For a while, my art was a battle to fit into a world I struggled to understand. My need for connection and symbiosis kept me living by creating. I was constantly trying to find myself and my place in a world that seemed harsh and betraying. I learned to adapt in everyday life yet my art wouldn't comply and continued on its own capricious path that was not reliable to be understood. My personal social growth was in paradox with my art and my identity could not be pinned. Luckily the energy of my soul reached important guides I met through my scholar years and life and they gave me the strength to continue by believing in me. The most important of these guides during high school was my art master Jose Miguel who taught me oil painting and drawing in his Saturday classes at the Musee d'Art Moderne de la ville de Paris. His patience and hard truthful personality was what awakened the haphazard notes that would one day combine to form my true melody. He is the reason I teach art to others as this is the only way I could ever thank him justly. It was an honor to be a disciple under his care. Another important guide during my master's degree at L'ecole nationale superieure des beaux-arts de Paris was Didier Semin. He helped me navigate intellectually in an art world that felt discrediting. And lastly, my still so ever present guide who taught me to connect with my spiritual self is Sebastien Aurillon who is a true friend, mentor and collaborator in my artistic and spiritual growth. After this long sublime yet gut wrenching journey, I have now fused with my inner spiritual melody and everything in the creative and existent realms have become one and made me whole the way I was intended to be in this life.
