Guided meditations

“Sway like the trees during the storm” digital drawing

When life pushes you and pulls you in all directions, plant your feet on the ground and feel yourself get grounded to the earth. Your grounding is strong and elastic. Now let your body become limp so that it can sway with the storm. Your feet are rooted like the trunk of a tree and your body becomes flexible like its branches. The storm will pass and it will not uproot you if let it pass through you.

“Sickness” digital drawing

As you are lying in bed with your aching body, position yourself in the fetal position under the covers. Imagine that the covers are Mother Earth. Let her absorb your stagnant and ill energies. She can take them in and recycle them into new energies. You are not alone. She is embracing your aching body as she connects with you to cleanse you. Feel your illness seeping out of your body and dissolving into her as you become one with her. Fall asleep in her nurturing arms.

“Cleansing under a shower” digital drawing

When our body feels heavy and burdened with stagnant energies, we can cleanse it under the shower. Feel the clean water falling on your body as it washes the dirt particles off of your skin. Connect to your body and scan it to feel the areas that feel heavy. Now mentally picture a sponge that can scrub these areas inside of your body and scrub them to release the stagnant energy clusters. The sponge will break them down so they can be released through your skin like sweat and be washed off in the shower. Let go of these impurities so they can go down the drain and be recycled by the earth.

“Bonsai 1” digital drawing

When you are feeling trapped and suffocated, lie down and position your body so that you feel heavy, tangled, and stuck, unable to free yourself. Once you are there, start breathing through your nose and exhaling through your mouth deep long breaths. As you take these breaths in, picture your rib cage expanding to create room for your lungs to expand as well. As you exhale, picture your rib cage expanding even more into the universe. Each breath expands your chest, your ribs, your lungs and your heart more and more. Once your chest feels free, imagine your tangled body like the tangled trunk of a bonsai. Realize that however twisted it is, the leaves blossom as they should. The bonsai represents the idea of a perfect balance, how people can attain peace within themselves. Now feel your heavy, tangled body and with each breath, feel how your the circulation in your body is still flowing freely, the oxygen is still travelling through your blood cells and your life is still pulsing as it should. Now start wiggling one of your toes slowly and feel how free and possible that movement is. Now continue by slowly moving your leg, your fingers, your arm, your hand, your other leg, your neck, your other hand, your head and your other arm, and slowly feel your body releasing itself from the weighted twisted position it use to hold. Feel the release in your shoulders, your stomach and your heart. Position your body with your limbs stretched out like a starfish and feel how free and light your body and your mind are.

However trapped we may feel, let the breath guide us back to freedom.
